Thirteen (13) anglers from the Green Man AC attended this club match on Woodside pool. Conditions on the day were a bit of a mixed bag with showers to begin with, some of which were quite heavy, followed by some sunshine in the afternoon.
Winner on the day was Craig Newton, who drew peg 5 in the channel close to the island. Starting his match offering pellet tight to the island, Craig found small carp in numbers before switching to his edge late on with corn to find some better quality fish. Craig ended the match with 85-11-00.
Second place was taken by Ali Cox. Like Craig, Ali started his match fishing shallow but without much success so quickly changed to the feeder with 6mm pellet on the hook to pick off odd fish. Later, Ali looked down his edge offering maggot over groundbait to weigh in a level 60lbs.
Charlie Jeavons finished in third place from peg 3. Opting not to fish the pellet waggler like many that draw this peg, Charlie opted for a different approach and fished 6mm expanders in the margins to find mainly carp to weigh 56-11-00.
Shaun Smith finished close behind in fourth place with 53-06-00 of carp all taken on banded 6mm pellet fished on the pole at 13m.
