Twelve (12) anglers from Unity House attended their latest club match here at Woodside Fishery. Conditions on the day were ideal with plenty of cloud cover coupled with a decent breeze suggesting that fishing on the day would be good. However, the day before saw a lot of rain water and hail enter the pool following a short but angry thunderstorm, which appeared to put the resident carp off a little. However, very little separated the top three on the day.
Finishing in first place was Terry Box who drew peg 15 on the dam wall. Starting his match on the feeder, Terry got off to a good start finding small carp in numbers before coming down his edge late on with dead maggots over groundbait. Terry ended the match with 78-08-00.
Second place went to Paul Davis from peg 19. Fishing bread down his inside did most of the damage for Paul, who offered 70-12-00 to the scales at the end of the five hours.
Les Robbins finished in third place from peg 9 with 68-08-00. Most of his weight came late on to corn down his margin.
