A good turnout saw twenty (20) anglers from Cradley Labour Club pegged across both Woodside and Island pools. Conditions on the day were extremely hot again with very little breeze meaning the pool was flat calm. Despite the less than favourable conditions, sport on the day was reasonable with over 70lbs needed to finish in the mainframe on Woodside pool.
Winner on the day on Woodside pool was Stewart Mulheron, who drew peg 12. Fishing 6mm pellet short at 7m, Stewart found mainly carp to weigh in 81lbs exactly to confirm a narrow victory.
Second on the day was taken by Martin Yarsley from peg 10 just off the point of the island,. Stewart fished most of the match short with casters before switching to his edge late on offering worm over dead maggot to weigh in a final 79-08-00.
Simon West finished in third place from opposite peg 18 with a level 75-00-00.
