The first quarter of 2025 has been a busy one here at the fishery with lots of groundwork being undertaken before the new match season gets underway. This year marks the busiest ever for the fishery with a full match calendar from April through to December including club matches, MAOTY, festivals, charity fundraisers and our annual winter league series.
February saw the main entrance to the fishery receiving a tidy up with the fence line either side of the main road being removed as well as a number of self seeded trees and brush. A massive thank you to Lawence Connolly for his help over a four day period, which saw a massive transformation.
The old fence line was in a terrible state and allowed for all manner of brambles and other nasties to grow up it making the place look untidy during the main growing season. The removal of the fence has also made the entrance to the fishery look and feel a lot more open and gives anglers more room behind certain pegs. We can't wait for everything to green back up again this summer to see how much difference it has made.

March saw us turn our attention to Woodside pool with all existing stagings being completely replaced with brand news ones. The old timber pegs are being replaced one by one with scaffold frames making for much sturdier and more secure pegs. The work has been ongoing for four weeks at the time of this post being published on our website, with the work hoping to be completed very soon.
We would like to say a massive thank you to those that have helped with the building of the new pegs to date including Lee McKnight, Dave Bowyer, Scott Banks, Chris Hall and John Latham. We couldn't have done it without your help. Be sure to check the fishery Facebook page for weekly updates.
