Bilston CD, Woodside Pool

Ten (10) anglers from Bilston CD lined the banks of Woodside pool for this latest club contest.

Topping the field on the day was Mark Biles, who drew peg 12. Alternating between dead maggot and worm hookbaits down his edge, Mark offered 86-13-00 of carp to the scales to confirm a relatively comfortable victory.

Harry Groucutt finished in second place from neighbouring peg 10. Starting his match offering pellet short, Harry found a handful of early carp patrolling the nearside shelf before the fish backed off. Harry followed the fish out on his long line, still offering pellet, before switching to his edge late on with worm over dead maggot and groundbait to confirm a final weight of 62-00-00.

Third place on the day was awarded to Tony Groucutt from peg 5 in the channel close to the island. Fishing pellet and paste down his edge for most of the match, Tony found carp as well as a smattering of silvers to offer 43-10-00 to the scales.
