Ten (10) anglers attended Halesowen Cricket Club's latest fixture here at Woodside. Conditions on the day were not ideal with temperatures barely into double figures with the rain just about holding off despite a few spots here and there. Yet, despite the conditions, fishing on the day was good - better than expected in fact.
Winner on the day was Martin Dunn, who drew peg 20. Fishing paste short and dead red maggot down his edge, Martin got among some quality fish to weigh in a superb 130-08-00 of carp to not only win the match but also qualify for next March's Match Angler Of The Year final.
Second place was taken by Scott Rhodes from peg 1. Scott caught most of his fish on both worm and dead maggot hookbaits fished over groundbait down his edge to weigh in 83-12-00 of mostly carp.
Third place was Tony Bishop from peg 5. Fishing corn down his edge, Tony found some quality roach and skimmers as well as plenty of carp to offer 67-04-00 to the scales. Tony also books his place in our Match Angler Of The Year final.
