The very first Match Angler Of The Year event took place on Saturday 30th March 2024 with twelve (12) anglers earning their place from results recorded across the 2023 season. To qualify for the event, anglers needed at least two match wins and / or a cumulative weight over a maximum of two matches of 100lb or more.
Winner of the very first event was Worcester rod, Dan Hart. Dan has enjoyed an incredible season at the fishery amassing an impressive number of match wins, both on the open circuit and special events, and was a very deserving winner of the competition's very first final.
