Nine (9) anglers from Metal Closures attended their latest gathering here, this time on the inform Island pool. Conditions on the day were not ideal, with high air pressure and very little wind to offer any relief from the hot and sticky weather.
Winner on the day was Adam Lees from peg 14. Adam opted to fish maggot shallow with plenty of cruising fish in front of him. Despite a small weight knock-back on one of his nets, Adam still confirmed a little over 100lb to book his place in next year's Match Angler Of The Year final.
Finishing in second place from peg 1 was Martin Davis. Fishing paste down his edge over fishery micros, Martin fished a tidy match to land 70-10-00 of carp from a weedy area.
Taking third place was Bob Bennett from peg 11. Offering pellet shallow for most of the match, Bob found some quality silvers among the resident carp to weigh in 65-10-00.
