Old Hill Legion AC, Woodside Pool

Fourteen (14) anglers attended this Saturday club match on the Woodside pool. Given the number of anglers in attendance, pegging was a little tighter than normal and, coupled with the continued sticky weather, fishing on the day was a little below par. Still, that said, it was still a competitive match with little separating the top three anglers.

Winner on the day was Paul Smith, who drew corner peg 6 close to the pads. Opting to stay away from the pads given how difficult it can be to get the fish out of them, Paul fished most of the match down his edge offering paste over corn and fishery micros to weigh in 51-00-00 of mainly carp.

Finishing close behind in second place was Alan Cash, who drew peg 21. Fishing worm over dead red maggot down his edge, Alan found mainly carp to weigh in 46-04-00.

Third place was awarded to Chris Whitehouse who drew peg 10 on the point of the island. Fishing corn and maggot down his edge, Chris found some good-sized fish to weigh in 39-09-00.
