Nine (9) anglers attended this first open match of the 2024 season after unexpected snowfall last weekend stopped the match going ahead as planned. Thankfully, conditions on the day for this latest open were a lot kinder with the rain holding off despite temperatures still remaining cold for the time of year.
Winner on the day was Dan Hart. Dan drew peg 20 and opted to fish paste down his left hand edge to find carp to double figures for a match-winning weigh of 114-04-00.
Runner-up was Dave Bowyer, who drew corner peg 6 close to the pads. Dave fished maggots and expanders down his edge to find some quality silverfish in amongst carp to weigh in 82-03-00.
Ken Hayes secured the final mainframe position offering 41-04-00 to the scales from peg 18. Ken opted to fish corn and maggot over groundbait down his edge to find mainly carp.
