A small turnout saw just six (6) anglers attend this latest club match on the Island pool. Conditions on the day were pretty cool and a little grey to begin with, but by the middle of the day, the sun was back and things once again became hot and sticky.
Winner on the day was Dave Hobbis, who drew peg 11 just off the point of the island. Fishing soft 6mm pellet down his edge over fishery micros and 4mms, Dave caught steadily for the full five hours to weigh in 86-13-00 of small carp to take the win.
Finishing in second place was Steve Crutch, who drew peg 2. Offering pellet down his edge, Steve found mostly small carp to weigh in 60-01-00 to confirm his second top three finish almost in as many weeks here.
Rounding off the top three finish was Craig Lea-Hair, who drew peg 14. Starting his match fishing caster shallow, Craig found some cruising fish willing to feed early on before switching to his edge later on, again offering casters, to end the match with 55-08-00 and a place in next year's Match Angler Of The Year event.
