A small turnout saw six (6) anglers from Pearl Lake attend their annual club match here at Woodside.
Winner on the day was Craig Lea-Hair, who drew in-form peg 3 on the point of the island. Craig focused his early efforts on fishing long over to the island on the pole, but couldn't get amongst the fish with any consistency. A change of tactic was in order so Craig offered dead red maggot down his edge over fishery micro pellet to find fishing willing to feed in numbers. Despite a number of foul-hookers, Craig put a decent run of fish together to end the match with 87-02-00 to squeak home in first place.
Finishing close behind in second place was Dave Hobbis, who drew peg 8. Offering soft pellet down his edge, Dave found some good-sized carp with a handful of roach and skimmers to weigh in 82-11-00.
Finishing a little off the pace, but still managing to secure a mainframe finish was Steve Peploe. Steve, who has an eviable recrord here, drew peg 18, which has also been enjoying a little run of form of late. However, it wasn't to be for Steve with his method feeder tactics accounting for 47-09-00 of mainly carp at the end of five hours.
