White Hall 1212 AC, Woodside & Island Pools

Fourteen (14) anglers from White Hall 1212 AC attended their first match of the season here at Woodside with anglers pegged across both Woodside and Island pools. With the resident carp stocks showing no more signs of spawning after a hectic couple of weeks, anglers were allowed to fish their magins for this latest contest. Weights, however, did not reflect this with a lot of fish still cruising in the upper layers showing little interest in feeding during the day.

WOODSIDE

Winner on the day on Woodside pool was Dan Syddell, who drew fancied peg 3 close to the point of the island. Opting to fish a method feeder down his edge with corn over groundbait, Dan found mostly carp of a good average stamp to weigh in 123-08-00 and win the match with ease.

Second place was Martin Wright from peg 8. Offering pellet on his short line, he managed 50-06-00 of carp including a double-figure catch of quality silvers.

John Shelton confirmed third place on what turned out to be a difficult day on Woodside pool with 45-07-00 from peg 10. Fishing maggot short, John enjoyed a busy days fishing finding carp, roach, rudd and skimmer bream.

ISLAND

Winner on the day on Island pool was Rob Jones, who drew peg 16. Rob went to his peg in good spirits knowing just last week the lake match record had been broken from peg 17 and was hopeful of a few fish. Rob fished corn long over to the island to weigh in 70-15-00 of mainly carp to confirm a comfortable victory on the day.

Second place was confirmed by Len Merrell from peg 2. Offering maggot and pellet on the short pole, Len managed to find small carp in numbers to weigh in 40-08-00.

Finishing in third place was Del Peters from peg 15. Fishing a small method feeder to the island with a wafter hookbait, Del found mainly small carp to offer 40-01-00 to the scales.
